What is SimSweep?
SimSweep is a desktop app for managing your Sims 4 CC and mods. Scan, organize, diagnose, and track everything in one place.
SimSweep is a desktop app for managing your Sims 4 custom content and mods. It scans your Mods folder, reads every .package and .ts4script file, and gives you a complete picture of what you've got, what's broken, what's conflicting, and what you're not even using.
If you've ever stared at a folder of 10,000 files with cryptic names wondering which one is crashing your game, this is the app that figures it out for you.
What it actually does
Scans your mods. SimSweep opens every package file and reads its contents. Not just filenames, but the actual binary data inside. It knows what type of CC each file is (hair, clothing, furniture, script mod, animation), what body types it targets, what resources it contains, and whether those resources conflict with other files.
Finds problems. Conflicts between mods, missing meshes, broken references, duplicate files, and suspicious content. It doesn't just say "something's wrong." It tells you exactly which files are fighting over the same resource and what you can do about it.
Tracks what you use. By reading your save files and tray data, SimSweep can tell you which CC your sims are actually wearing and which pieces have been sitting in your folder untouched since 2022. That 8 GB of CC you downloaded at 3 AM? Now you can see how much of it you've never used.
Organizes everything. Auto-sort puts your CC into organized folders by type (hair, clothing, build/buy, mods, etc.) so you don't have to do it by hand. Mod profiles let you create different setups and swap between them. Backups happen automatically.
Connects to the game. With the companion mod installed, SimSweep gets real-time data from your game while you play. Which mode you're in, what's on your lot, what outfits your sims are wearing, and any errors that pop up. All of it shows up on your dashboard the moment it happens.
Community features. The CC Hub is a shared catalog of every piece of CC that SimSweep users have scanned. You can browse it, search for specific items, find download links, and see what other players think about a file. Your scans contribute to the catalog too, so the more people use it, the better it gets.
Who it's for
Anyone who plays The Sims 4 with custom content or mods. You don't need to be technical. SimSweep handles the complicated stuff (binary parsing, resource indexing, conflict detection) and shows you the results in plain language.
That said, it's built for people who have more than a handful of mods. If you've got 50 files in your Mods folder, you probably don't need this. If you've got 5,000 (or 50,000), you probably can't live without it.
The ecosystem
SimSweep isn't just one app. There are a few pieces that work together:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| SimSweep (desktop app) | The main app. Scanning, browsing, sorting, diagnostics, everything. |
| Companion Mod | A Sims 4 script mod that feeds real-time game data to SimSweep. Live dashboard, lot scanning, outfit tracking, crash monitoring. |
| Browser Extension | Captures download URLs when you grab CC from sites like TSR, CurseForge, or Patreon. SimSweep uses those URLs to link your files back to their source. |
| Discord Bot | Manages Patreon tier sync and license keys in the SimSweep Discord server. |
You only need the desktop app. Everything else is optional but makes things better.
Tiers
SimSweep has three tiers. Every feature you need to manage your mods is in the free tier. Paid tiers unlock power-user features.
