What is SimSweep?
SimSweep is a free desktop app that scans your Sims 4 Mods folder for broken dependencies, conflicts, usage signals, and other issues.
If you've ever stared at a folder of thousands of files with cryptic names and wondered where to start, SimSweep can narrow the search. It reads supported package and script files, then organizes the findings so you can review them.
What SimSweep does#
The core of SimSweep is the scanner. Run a scan and SimSweep reads supported files in your Mods folder, cross-references any included save files, and builds a report of its findings. From there you can:
- Browse and search scanned CC in My CC
- See conflicts, missing dependencies, broken meshes, and script issues in Diagnostics
- Run tools like the guided 50/50 method, Check CC before installing, and Save Health checks
- Track your Sims 4 game connection through the free Game Link Control, Live, and basic Guardian panels
Scanning and scan results stay local. Optional connected features and limited operational requests can contact services for access verification, threat checks, creator lookups, updates, and reports. The Privacy Policy explains what each service receives.
Who it's for#
SimSweep is for any Simmer who has more than a handful of mods installed. You don't need to be technical. The app does the reading and the math. You just look at the results and decide what to do.
The SimSweep ecosystem#
The desktop app is the main thing, but there are two companions worth knowing about:

You only need the desktop app for Free. The Companion Mod is optional. It works with the free Game Link panels and can add richer data to Decrypt features such as CrashGuard.
Free vs Decrypt#
SimSweep is free to download and use. Free requires no SimSweep account. The core scanner, My CC browser, basic Diagnostics, and several tools are available to everyone.
Decrypt is the paid tier, available through Patreon. It unlocks automatic scanning on launch, file watching, CrashGuard, advanced Save Health views, automatic save backups, manifest export and comparison, and detailed CC metadata. Connect Patreon in Settings if you want those features. Manual CC backups remain a separate tool that runs only when you start it.
