Themes & appearance
How to change SimSweep's look, including free Light and Dark themes, Decrypt photo themes, and accessibility options.
SimSweep has two free themes built in, a full collection of Decrypt photo themes, and a handful of accessibility controls. It all lives in one place.
Finding Appearance settings#
Open Settings (the gear icon in the header) and pick the Appearance tab.
Free themes#
Light and Dark are available to everyone, no account needed. Pick whichever one your eyes prefer and move on.
Decrypt photo themes#
Decrypt access unlocks 23 photo themes. Each one wraps the whole app in a styled background image with a matching color palette. The themes are:
Abyss, Aurora, Blossom, Bubblegum, Copper, Coral, Cream, Darkroom, Dusk, Glacier, Hologram, Lavender, Mocha, Nebula, Neon, Noir, Nord, Overcast, Parchment, Prism, Retrowave, Sakura, Twilight.
Tip: You can preview any locked photo theme before unlocking it. The app shows a live preview with a banner at the top. Hit Unlock with Patreon to activate, or use the banner to exit preview and return to your current theme.
If you already have Decrypt but the theme isn't unlocking, try reconnecting your Patreon under Settings > Access.
Accessibility controls#
Still under Appearance, a couple of settings help if the default look is a bit much:
- High contrast mode bumps up the contrast across the UI. Off by default.
- Text scale lets you pick 90%, Default, 110%, or 120%. Hits every label and body text in the app.
Both are saved locally and apply immediately with no restart needed.

Settings reference covers every other toggle in SimSweep's Settings modal.
