Download & install
Download and install the SimSweep desktop app for Windows or macOS, then connect it to your Sims 4 folders.
SimSweep is free to download from simsweep.com. Free requires no SimSweep account. Install the current build for your platform, then point it at your Sims 4 folders.
Windows#
Download the .exe installer from simsweep.com. Double-click it to run.
You may see a Windows SmartScreen warning the first time ("Windows protected your PC"). This is normal for independent apps. Click More info, then Run anyway to proceed. The installer is code-signed, so newer versions of Windows should show fewer of these prompts over time.
The installer walks you through choosing an install location, copies the files, and can launch SimSweep when it finishes. The default install location works for most people.
macOS#
Download the .dmg from simsweep.com and open it to drag SimSweep to your Applications folder.
Current macOS builds are Developer ID signed and notarized. Open SimSweep from Applications after copying it from the disk image. If Gatekeeper reports that the app cannot be verified, download the latest build from simsweep.com before trying again.
After installing#
SimSweep launches to the Home screen. It tries to auto-detect your Sims 4 folders right away. If it finds them, you're ready to run your first scan. If not, you can set them manually in Settings before scanning.
See Your first scan for what to do next.
Next up#
Run your first scan and see what's actually in your Mods folder.
