SimSweep runs on Windows. Here's how to get it.

SimSweep runs on Windows. Here's how to get it.

System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
  • RAM: 4 GB minimum, 8 GB recommended for large mod folders
  • Disk: ~150 MB for the app itself, plus temporary space during scans
  • Internet: Required for account sign-in, CC Hub, community features, and auto-updates. Scanning and file management work offline.
  • WebView2: Comes pre-installed on Windows 10/11. If it's missing for some reason, the installer handles it.

Downloading

Grab the latest version from simsweep.com/download. It's a single .exe installer, around 85 MB.

No account needed to download. You'll create one when you first open the app.

Running the Installer

Double-click the .exe to start the install.

Windows SmartScreen warning: You'll probably see a "Windows protected your PC" popup the first time. This is normal for independent apps. SimSweep's installer is code-signed through Microsoft's Trusted Signing service, so newer versions of Windows should show fewer warnings. If you see the popup:

  1. Click More info
  2. Click Run anyway

The installer is a dark-themed wizard that walks you through:

  1. Choosing your install location (default is fine for most people)
  2. Installing the files
  3. Optionally launching SimSweep when it's done

The whole thing takes about 30 seconds.

Update Channels

SimSweep has two update channels:

  • Stable - The default. Tested, reliable, recommended for most people.
  • Beta - New features land here first. Available to Decrypt and Override subscribers. You can switch in Settings > Advanced.

Auto-updates happen in the background. When a new version is ready, SimSweep downloads it and installs it the next time you restart the app. No action needed on your end.

If you switch from Beta back to Stable (or the other way around), the app downloads the correct version and runs the installer automatically.

Uninstalling

Standard Windows uninstall. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps, find SimSweep, and click Uninstall. Or run the uninstaller from the install directory.

Your scan data, settings, and cached thumbnails live in your user profile folder and aren't removed during uninstall, so if you reinstall later, your data is still there.
