Mod profiles
Save named mod loadouts and switch between them instantly. Profiles is a Decrypt feature.
Profiles let you keep separate named sets of mods and switch between them without moving files yourself. One profile for building, one for a legacy save, one for testing new CC. Activate one and SimSweep parks everything that does not belong, then restores the right files. This is a Decrypt feature.
Creating a profile#
- Open Tools from the sidebar.
- Select Profiles.
- Press + Create Profile.
- Choose a starting point:
- Snapshot current mods to create a profile from whatever is active right now.
- Start empty to build the profile by hand.
- Name the profile and confirm.
After creating, you can open the profile card to view its files, add more with + Add Files, or search within the list.
Activating a profile#
- Find the profile you want in the list.
- Press Activate.
SimSweep moves files around immediately. You will see Parking files... while it moves non-profile files out of your active Mods folder, and Restoring files... while it brings the profile files in. When it finishes, the card shows Active.
Heads up: Do not manually rearrange files while activation is in progress. If something interrupts the swap, SimSweep will surface a recovery option the next time you open Profiles.
Parked files#
Files that do not belong to the active profile get parked. They stay on your disk, they just sit outside the active Mods folder until you switch profiles or restore everything. Press Show Parked Files at any time to see what is waiting.
Leaving a profile#
To go back to having all your mods active, press All Mods or Restore All from the active profile area. SimSweep puts everything back.
Editing a profile#
Open any profile card to:
- See the current file count and total size.
- Add or remove files.
- Delete the profile entirely.
Deleting a profile does not delete the files from disk. It just removes the loadout record.
A few notes#
- Profiles move files on disk, so anything that holds file locks (cloud sync tools like OneDrive, antivirus scans) can occasionally block an activation. If you run into that, try again when sync is idle.
- A Decrypt subscription or key is required to use Profiles. You can connect Patreon to unlock access.
