Game Link & companion mod

A live dashboard that shows lot health, sim needs, mod errors, and more while your game is running. Game Link is a Decrypt feature.

Game Link turns SimSweep into a live window into your game. While Sims 4 is running with the companion mod loaded, the dashboard updates in real time with health scores, sim needs, error counts, mod performance data, and more. This is a Decrypt feature.

What you can see#

When connected, the dashboard shows:

  • Lot Health Score with an overall health reading
  • Live Sim Needs showing hunger, energy, fun, social, hygiene, and bladder for your household
  • Interaction Failures and mod error counts as they happen
  • Mod Error Detection and any broken CC flagged in the current session
  • Build/Buy Tracking for what you are placing
  • Zone Load Profiling for how long loading took
  • Household data and pack labels (BASE, EP, GP, SP, KIT, FREE)

None of this data is sent anywhere. The connection is between the game and the SimSweep desktop app, entirely on your machine.

Setting up the companion mod#

The companion mod is what sends data from inside the game to SimSweep. You install it once.

  1. Make sure you have Decrypt access. You can connect Patreon to unlock it.
  2. Open Game Link from the sidebar or the Tools hub card.
  3. If the companion mod is not installed, you will see Get the mod on the disconnected screen. Press it.
  4. SimSweep downloads and installs the mod into your Mods folder under Mods/SYVR.
  5. Launch the game (either from the Launch Game button in SimSweep or however you normally launch it).
  6. Load into a lot. The dashboard connects automatically and starts showing data.

If an update is available later, the same screen will show Update available instead. Press it to grab the latest version.

The connection#

Current companion versions use a local file queue on your PC. The game writes small event files for SimSweep to read, so Game Link does not need an internet connection. Waiting for connection stays on screen until the game is running and loaded into a lot. Once the queue opens, the dashboard goes live.

Older companion versions used a Python connection to SimSweep on a local port. Some security tools, including ModGuard, can warn about that older behavior. Keep ModGuard and your antivirus on. The current companion archive is signed, and SimSweep did not reproduce the old warning against version 2.18.2.

If the dashboard stays stuck on Waiting for connection after loading into a lot:

  1. Open Game Link and install any companion update it offers.
  2. Confirm script mods are enabled in The Sims 4, then load into a lot.
  3. Restart SimSweep and the game once so both sides reopen the local queue.
  4. Read the SimSweep security page for the current trust and reporting policy.
  5. If a warning remains, share its exact text in SimSweep support. Do not turn off either protection tool.

A few notes#

  • Some dashboard data only appears after loading into a lot, not immediately on the main menu.
  • If you renamed or removed the companion mod file manually, SimSweep will prompt you to reinstall.
  • The live dashboard is only visible when Decrypt is active. Without it, the Game Link page shows a locked preview listing the available data panels.
