Docs/CC Hub

CC Hub

The CC Hub is SimSweep's community catalog. Browse CC, find download links, track creators, and build collections.

How to get here: Click the Globe icon in the sidebar.

The CC Hub is SimSweep's community catalog. Every time someone scans their mods folder with community sharing enabled, their CC metadata gets added to a shared database. That means you can browse CC that other players have, see where to download it, and get info about items before you install them.

Browsing

The CC Hub opens to a browse view with several sections:

Billboard

At the top of the page, you'll see the billboard. These are featured or sponsored CC items displayed as a rotating carousel. Creators can purchase billboard slots to showcase their content.

Category Strip

Below the billboard, a horizontal row of category tabs lets you filter the catalog:

Hair, Clothing, Accessories, Makeup, Build/Buy, Mods, and more. Each tab shows items from that category. Click a tab to filter.

A curated row of popular items based on how many users have scanned them recently.

Recently Added

The newest items in the catalog, based on when they were first submitted.

The search bar at the top lets you search across all items by filename, creator name, or keywords. Results show item cards with thumbnails, creator names, and category labels.

Item Cards

Each card in the CC Hub shows:

  • Thumbnail (community-uploaded or extracted from package data)
  • Filename
  • Creator name (with confidence badge if verified)
  • Category label
  • Source site badge (TSR, MTS, CurseForge, etc.) if a download source is known
  • Multi-file mod badge (purple) for mods that consist of multiple .package files

Multi-File Mods

Mods that ship as multiple .package files show as a single card with a purple "Multi-file mod" badge. Click into one to see all the individual files, their sizes, and which one you're looking at. SimSweep recognizes 70+ known multi-file mods automatically and uses pattern detection for ones it doesn't know.

Item Detail

Click any card to open the detail modal. Here you'll find:

  • Full-size thumbnail (hover to upload a custom one)
  • File metadata - Size, category, subcategory, type
  • CAS tags - Gender, age, outfit category, body type, hair texture/length, style, color
  • Resource breakdown - What's inside the package (interactions, buffs, traits, etc. for mods)
  • Source URLs - Known download links. Click to open in your browser.
  • Creator info - Name, confidence level, link to their profile
  • Dependencies - Other CC this item requires, with clickable links
  • Required packs - Which Sims 4 DLC packs are needed
  • Community status - Working/broken reports from other users
  • NSFW flag - Items from adult content sites are marked

3D Mesh Preview

For CAS items (clothing, hair, shoes, accessories), click the "3D" button in the top-right of the thumbnail to see the actual mesh geometry from the .package file. Drag to rotate, scroll to zoom, right-click to pan. Vertex and triangle counts are shown in the bottom-left corner. Click "2D" to go back to the thumbnail.

Items without meshes (mods, tuning files, presets) show "No mesh data" gracefully. The mesh preview works with any item that contains GEOM data. If the item has a diffuse texture, it's automatically applied to the 3D model.

Custom Thumbnails

Hover over the thumbnail in the detail modal to upload a custom image. Supports PNG, JPG, and WebP. Images get resized to 256x256 max. Your upload saves locally right away and gets submitted to the CC Hub for approval.

Creator Profiles

Click any creator name to open their profile page. You'll see:

  • Profile picture (if one has been uploaded)
  • Total items in the catalog
  • All their CC in a browseable grid
  • Verified sites if their download URLs have been confirmed

Creator names get auto-extracted from filenames, URLs, and site metadata. Sometimes the extraction gets it wrong. If you see an incorrect creator name, you can correct it via the right-click menu in My CC.

Creator aliases: Some creators go by different names on different sites. SimSweep knows about common aliases and auto-resolves them to the correct name.

Claiming Your Profile

If you're a CC creator, you can claim your profile by clicking "Is this you? Claim profile" on your creator page. Submit your email, platform, and a verification link. An admin will review and approve or reject the claim. Once approved, your SimSweep account is linked to your CC Hub profile, enabling future features like profile customization and verified badges. The "Is this you?" prompt disappears once a profile has been claimed.

Source URLs

Source URLs are the download links for CC items. They come from two places:

  1. The Browser Extension - When you download CC with the extension installed, SimSweep captures the source URL and links it to the file automatically.
  2. Manual submission - Admin users can link URLs directly from the detail modal.

Source URLs go through a review pipeline before they're visible to other users. Auto-approval kicks in when:

  • The file hash already exists in the catalog
  • The submitter has 10+ previously approved submissions
  • Two or more independent people confirm the same URL

Admins can bypass the review pipeline entirely.

Wishlists and Collections

You can save items to wishlists and custom collections from the CC Hub. Click the bookmark icon on any item card or in the detail modal.

  • Wishlist - A single default list for items you want to download later. Free users can save up to 25 items. Decrypt and Override users get unlimited.
  • Collections - Create custom named collections to organize CC however you want. Requires Decrypt tier.
  • Share codes - Generate a code for any collection so other people can view it.

Collections sync across devices if you're signed in. Items you save in the desktop app show up in the browser CC Hub and vice versa.

Installing CC

When you're browsing the CC Hub and see something you want, source URLs let you jump to the download page. SimSweep doesn't download files directly from the CC Hub. It's a catalog and reference, not a download manager.

That said, when you download CC with the Browser Extension installed, SimSweep's notification system picks it up and offers to install it (move it to your Mods folder). There's a pre-install check that scans the file for issues before it goes in.

Billboard Advertising

Creators can purchase billboard ad slots to feature their CC at the top of the CC Hub.

Pricing

  • Standard slots and premium slots are available at different price points
  • Purchased through Stripe checkout within the app

My Ads Dashboard

If you've purchased billboard space, a My Ads button appears next to the search bar. It opens a panel showing:

  • Each ad with thumbnail, headline, slot position, and week dates
  • Status badge - Active, Upcoming, Expired, or Pending Payment
  • Performance metrics - Impressions (total + unique), clicks (total + unique), CTR percentage
  • 7-day sparkline chart showing daily performance
  • Cancel button for unpaid ads

Impression tracking is deduplicated. If the same user refreshes the page 50 times, it counts as 1 unique impression. Total impressions still track raw volume.

Community Sharing

When community sharing is enabled in Settings, your scan data contributes to the CC Hub. Here's what gets shared:

  • File metadata - Filename, size, category, body types, resource types
  • File hash - A SHA256 fingerprint of the file (not the file itself)
  • CAS tag data - Gender, age, outfit categories, etc.
  • Thumbnails - Extracted previews (uploaded after scan)

What doesn't get shared:

  • Your file paths
  • Your username or personal info
  • The actual files themselves
  • Which files you use or don't use

You can turn community sharing off in Settings at any time.

Deep Linking

SimSweep supports a custom simsweep:// protocol for sharing CC Hub content:

LinkWhat it opens
simsweep://item/<sha256>Opens the item detail modal for a specific file
simsweep://wishlistOpens the wishlist panel
simsweep://collection/<shareCode>Opens a shared collection

These links work from Discord, browsers, or anywhere that supports custom URL protocols. They open SimSweep directly to the right place.

Filters

The CC Hub has its own set of filters:

  • Category tabs - Hair, Clothing, Accessories, Makeup, Build/Buy, Mods
  • Gender - Male, Female, Unisex
  • Subcategory - Depends on the selected category (e.g., Lipstick, Eyeshadow, Eyeliner under Makeup)
  • Source site - Filter by download site
  • Sort - Trending, Recently Added, Most Files, A-Z
  • NSFW toggle - Hide or show adult content (hidden by default, filtered server-side)
